About The 507

Capitol Hill's Go-To Event Space and Home to DC's Home-Town Creative Agency

The back Story

Taoti Creative is DC's premier creative & marketing agency. Who had some extra space in the office.

Established in 1996, Taoti builds websites, films commercials, creates radio spots, develops brands, buys media, lights up social, and does whatever else it takes to move the needle for its clients. Clients like DC Lottery, the Architect of the Capitol, the Jane Goodall Foundation, US Figure Skating, The World Bank, the National Association of [you name it], and Carnegie Mellon, just to mention a very few.In 2022, they outgrew their old offices on Capitol Hill and moved across the street to 507 8th Street, SE DC. Aka, "Barracks Row." Taoti still operates out of their studios and offices on the second floor, but they had ~7000 sq ft of wide open space on the first floor to play with. Someone said, "this would be a good place for a helluva party."And that's how The 507 came to be.

YOU CAN DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING HERE

Upstairs

Taoti's offices are upstairs, but the front third of the building is essentially communal and lounge area (with a full kitchen. Turns out it too is a great space to have an event! It's more turn-key, with high tops, low tops, couch/lounge seating, a pool table, dart board, popcorn machine, 300" LED TV, professional audio system, and even a piano and some guitars, just in case a jam session breaks out! The point is that it's pretty much all ready set up for a reception or party type of event without lifting a finger. Just add food and booze. (Or move some furniture around, set up the folding chairs in the back room, and you have a great venue for a panel discussion, meetup, or other presentation-style event for up to about 125 people.

Downstairs

The ground floor is pretty much a blank canvas. With almost 5000 sq ft of open space, you can do seated dinners, dances, weddings/barmitzvahs, small concerts, art galleries, award ceremonies, fashion shows, brand activations, or whatever you want for up to about 600 people. Built-in lighting and audio, plus all sorts of event equipment and tables/chairs stored on site, it's easy to transform this space into anything you want--from and industrial vibe to sheik.Or use both spaces at once! (The upstairs makes a great VIP lounge for a larger event downstairs!)

Filming / Production / Fabrication

You don't have to throw a party here. We also use this space for casting calls, filming TV spots, recording audio, and building stuff! We have a full array of hand tools, wood working tools, metal working tools, and to our knowledge, Capitol Hill's only forge on site! Want to practice your knife making skills to go on Forged in Fire? We got you covered.
